The Classical Chorus is our auditioned chorus for adults.

The Adult Chorus rehearses on Mondays 7:00-9:00 PM at Hardin Simmons University in the Choir Room, located on the 2nd floor of Caldwell Hall.

The Classical Chorus of Abilene (adult choir) has performed with the Abilene Philharmonic, Abilene Opera Association, Mercury Baroque Ensemble, the Texas Baroque Ensemble, as well as The University of Texas Early Music Project, the Abilene Ballet, and the Abilene Community Band. They have performed internationally in Scotland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Greece.

Tuition is charged by the season ($300) and payable per semester ($150). There is an annual registration fee of $40. There is a 10% multi-singer family discount.

Auditions are held by Chorus Abilene’s artistic staff to assess musical skills in a relaxed and interactive few minutes. Auditionees will vocalize (as demonstrated by the conductor) and do a short sight-reading assessment.  Please contact the office staff with any questions you have concerning the audition process.

In 2022, Chorus Abilene will be embarking on a performance tour of Hawaii! This tour will take you to the island of O'ahu where you will spend 5 days performing at local venues and sightseeing!
